Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo)

turkey.jpg

While uncommon, Wild Turkey does make an appearance in Waldo from time to time. They live here year-round and forage in flocks for seeds, nuts, plant matter and occasionally insects. Wild Turkey travels by walking most of the time. They will engage in flight when threatened and at night when they will fly to the upper branched of tree limbs to roost.
